Wrong Manorama linked. The actress Manorama in this movie is not the Tamil Actress but the Punjabi/Hindi actress from the movies such as Seeta Aur Geeta, Ek Phool Do Mali and many more.

NOT MENTIONED: Plagiarism case against Deepa Mehta by Sunil Gangopadhyay from his book 1985 Sahitya Akademi Award Sei Samaya:

2006 Film[edit]

Yahoo movies mentions Water is a 2006 film. Hence, I have corrected it from 05 to 06. Sbohra 07:53, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The film premiered at the 2005 Toronto Film Festival and was released across Canada in November of that year.

Move Page[edit]

This page should be moved to Water (2006 film) since there is a 1985 film with the same name. --Nehrams2020 07:23, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I moved the page to Water (2005 film) - the film was originally released in 2005 which is also the date given by IMDB [1]. It was released nationally in the U.S. in 2006 (although it played in film festivals in 2005) which may be why it is listed elsewhere as 2006. It makes the most sense to list it according to its original release date. -Classicfilms 05:42, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Water OST (Cover).jpg[edit]

Image:Water OST (Cover).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

"he/him" problem[edit]

In the beginning of the following sentence, do you think the use of him is correct?

It is him who makes Shakuntala aware of her situation, eventually giving her the necessary intellectual input to separate true faith from the hypocrisy and superstition that makes her and the other widows' lives a misery.

As far as my knowledge of English grammar is concerned, it should be he. If it is a mistake, it should be incorporated into the main article as well. --Sunil (talk) 23:04, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chuiya vs Neha[edit]

At least in the hindi version, this transition from Chuiya to Neha is not depicted. Someone please corroborate the source of this assertion.

It's not in the version I saw either and I am taking it out. --Bluejay Young (talk) 18:53, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
