Family tree[edit]

I just created a family tree using the family tree templates. It struck me that this article is not much more than a family tree so it seemed appropriate. There are a few items that need resolved before we can put it in the article I went ahead and put it in:

  1. Two members of the tree-Audry Walton and Christy Walton need maiden names since the marriage relationship is show on the tree the convention is to list maiden names.
  2. We could add more birth dates and such but I don't think its 100% necessary like the first one is but I only put what was already available on wikipedia.

Also most of the less notable members of the family only have one paragraph articles. Elizabeth Paige Laurie is actually a redirect to her mothers article where she is discussed briefly. We may consider merging some of the less notable members into this article where I think we have a good chance of writing something more cohesive.

I added "float: left" to the style on the template to allow test to wrap, I am not sure how to add the cell padding/spacing just to the outer most border to keep text from going right up against it, I will add an empty cell though to fix it. Or we can ditch that all together there really is not sufficient text in the article at the moment to need it. Dalf | Talk

Do rhe walton family have relitives in Australia at Bigred8970 (talk) 03:03, 22 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Don't know how to edit this, but you should probably include Steuart Walton who has a wiki page and is on the board of directors. Jim W and Lynne McNabb — Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.142.43.183 (talk) 22:01, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Net Worth.[edit]

Don't want to be picky here, but right after the article says 'richest family in the world', it should probably state how rich they are.Babieca 02:00, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tagged as "lacking sources"[edit]

Aren't the sources "imbedded"? In other words, if you click on any notable member of the family, it will tell you in that article who the immediate relations are (and a source there would be important).Ekem 15:34, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding marriages[edit]

I couldnt find maiden names for Audrey or Christy Walton. Also, I removed the note about audrey and bud's divorce, I thought a divorce date under her name on the tree would be more appropriate, but couldnt find one. can anyone provide these details with references? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Popefauvexxiii (talkcontribs) 05:18, 9 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

other Waltons?[edit]

Did any of the fortune go to Sam's cousins? Does anyone know if there is a poor Walton who is related? That would be interesting. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.206.165.48 (talk) 03:08, 6 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

I reverted a large body of text that was added just recently which portrayed the Walton family as a menace to society that ought to be extinguished. 70.251.126.204 (talk) 13:24, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kaylee L. Walton[edit]

Since all other reference show 4 children total for the Waltons, this is obviously an incorrect name. Even Google searches on the name only point back to this article. How do we edit her out? BostonRed (talk) 01:06, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A bit of a travesty[edit]

Considering this is the richest family in the US why is there only one paragraph about them? Must be someone around here that can copy-pasta some stuff in with a few edits. 78.68.210.173 (talk) 05:51, 2 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I was hoping to make the text "Sam Walton" in a hyperlink[edit]

The caption underneath Sam Walton's photograph reads, "Sam Walton, founder of Walmart" I wanted to turn Sam Walton's name into a hyperlink to the Wikipedia page on Sam Walton. However, the page is closed for public editing.

Do you have any opertunitys for anyone to get started selling on line with Walmart.[edit]

I went on a Walmart site that promotes learning how to set up a store online selling Walmart products. And they had arranged a phone call with me at 12-12:15 pm today. No one called and I'm having trouble finding that sire again. My name is John Lombardi and my # is 718-483-4990 And I would like to learn how to sell on Walmart. Can you help. Thanks for your time. 141.155.175.152 (talk) 18:23, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you learn how to spell "opportunities" it will increase your chance of landing a relationship with Walmart. Enable spell-check on the browser-window in which you typed your comment. In many systems, if a word is underlined with a squiggly red underline it means it's misspelled (or might be a correctly spelled name, technical term, or brand-name that is not in the spell-checkers dictionary). If nobody phoned you, the site might have been a scam. Did you have to hand over any money to get that phone-appointment? If you did not, and if it was a scam, they were probably planning to use your phone-call to get money out of you, and when the time came they probably skipped you to phone a prospective victim whom they deemed more likely to be lucrative. (Or maybe they were already under arrest for this con-game, which would explain why the site isn't findable anymore.) And if it was a scam, they are constantly weighing the risk and benefits of leaving the site up for one more day. If they leave it up one more day, then that's another day on which they might make even more money (more than they've already made) off of further victims. BUT, if they leave it up one more day, that's giving law-enforcement personnel one more day to try to track that website back to the scammers and arrest them. SO, I guess, if that's their thinking, they will eventually take the website down to avoid getting caught, and that may well be why you can't find the website anymore.2600:8804:8800:11F:F83A:A1F9:7321:889 (talk) 22:46, 10 February 2022 (UTC)Christopher L. Please keep us as additional Walton relatives meet the "noteworthy" criterion[edit]

The family tree is missing a grandson named Tom Walton, whose activities, if you look them up, probably qualify to make him "noteworthy". He is married to Olivia Walton (not John-Boy's mother) and her activities make her noteworthy. I've seen people get into Wikipedia (entire articles) for a lot less than these two people have done. And I'm not asking for an entire article, but just MENTION in this family-tree.2600:8804:8800:11F:F83A:A1F9:7321:889 (talk) 22:46, 10 February 2022 (UTC)Christopher L. Simpson[reply]

Family tree revert request[edit]

Hello, Kevin here from the Walton family office. I'd like to request reversal of this edit, which incorrectly added "Avinash Walton" to the family tree. Because I have a conflict of interest, I do not make any direct edits to articles relating to the Walton family. @GRuban: if you're available to take care of this real quick, I'd appreciate it. Thank you! Kt2011 (Talk · COI:Walton family) 18:29, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Done and Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#User:SKSumanTAJ,_and_"Avinash_Walton". Someone has a lot of energy and a sense of humor; a dangerous combination. --GRuban (talk) 19:10, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@GRuban: Appreciate the quick action, and you going the extra mile to look into their history. Thanks! Kt2011 (Talk · COI:Walton family) 21:01, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
