Bias-[edit]

“Although the greater part of the community had already emigrated after the 1958 Crisis and the Lebanese Civil War, Yasir Arafat's PLO forces and the Christian Phalangists actually protected the neighborhood during the 1982 Lebanon War. However, the presence of Palestine Liberation Organization forces in the quarter led to an Israeli bombardment that damaged the Maghen Abraham Synagogue.”

This is supposed to be objective? Sounds like another whitewashing of Arafat and denigration of Israel. Why did most of the community emigrate? Some important stuff in History of the Jews in Lebanon is omitted here.75.84.98.250 (talk) 12:57, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The better part of the community emigrated because Lebanon was in internal political uproar. Maybe you've never heard of a "civil war"? They usually aren't too fun. I'm not denigrating Israel, I'm stating a fact: the PLO was hiding in the neighborhood and because of that the IDF bombarded it and damaged the Magen Abraham Synagogue.CharlesMartel (talk) 06:15, 6 January 2008 (UTC)CharlesMartel[reply]

All right, in that case why not just say that? What does "protect" mean in this case? Also adding "Most of the community emigrated during the Lebanese Civil War."75.85.81.0 (talk) 00:47, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, here is the text I'm putting in: Most of the community emigrated during the 1958 Crisis and the Lebanese Civil War.

The greater part of the community had already emigrated by the 1982 Lebanon War, when Yasir Arafat's PLO forces took over the neighborhood. This led to an Israeli bombardment that damaged the Magen Abraham Synagogue. 75.85.81.0 (talk) 00:56, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
