I think the statement about the creation and naming vs. the "Now" compilation is a bit off, for a few reasons. The "WOW Hits" series was started in 1996, and was primarily released to the US market. "Now" didn't debut in the US market until 1998, two years after "WOW Hits" had been around. It may have been inspired by the "Now" compilations, but I doubt that a US Christian music compilation would be attempting to compete with a British mainstream music compilation. Until a reference is given to support this statement, I think it's best to only surmise that the name choice and idea were only inspired by "Now," not done out of competition.
