Merge Crafter article ?[edit]

It would make sense to merge the LT Mk.II section and the Crafter article into the Mercedes Sprinter article(s). VW LT Mk I (VW code LT) - was a genuine VW-MAN/VAG product The VW LT Mk II (VW code LT2) was a rebagded Mercedes Sprinter model W901–905 The Crafter (VW code LT3) is a rebaged Mercedes Sprinter model W906/NCV3 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.65.229.58 (talk) 23:57, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It actually makes no sense at all, to merge these. The VW LT Mk II and VW Crafter are not rebagded Mercedes Sprinters at all. Matter of fact, it's more the case, that both Mercedes and VW threw their partsbin into one big pile and used parts from either of the partsbins. It's a cooperation, the same way as the VW LT G-series was a Cooperation between VW and MAN.

You'll find, that there's Mercedes parts in the VW and that there's VW/Audi parts in the Mercedes and then each of them used their own engine and gearboxes.

It goes even further, when you look at each 4x4 variant, where the Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 build by Iglhaut uses Mitsubishi components and the VW Crafter 4Motion uses entirely different components and is build together with Achleitner.

So far you've all wasted time changing things on Commons and this article but none of you have actually provided any evidence to back up your claims. Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 00:04, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
