page rename[edit]

Is it possible for someone to rename this page Volkswagen G40 and G60 engines please? It would better reflect the whole content of the article. Thanks. 78.32.143.113 (talk) 19:09, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Polo G40.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion[edit]

What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Oko Polo?[edit]

Any worth in including some info on VW's experimental 2-cylinder / 850cc supercharged diesel engine that used (IIRC) a G40, and was installed into a few prototype mk2 Polos in the early 80s, at least one of which made its way to the states? Ultimate power was somewhere in the 900-1000cc naturally aspirated petrol / 1.3~1.4L suction diesel range but it claimed quite impressive economy. An interesting early example of the supercharging-as-economy-measure (vs the more common turbocharging) that only really seems to have been tried out by Nissan since (in the recent Micra, Note and Juke DiG-S models)... 193.63.174.254 (talk) 18:29, 26 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

G60 nomenclature is incorrect.[edit]

The article states that the inlet is 60mm. The inlet on the G60 and G40 are virtually the same. The depth of the vanes of the scroll are different. The G40 has a scroll depth of 40mm, the G60 scroll is about 59.5mm deep. While this results in a displacement difference, the inlets aren't substantially different. I won't edit the article until I can break out my illustrated parts catalog for the G-Lader, but if the original writer of that section sees this - double check your info. 71.15.165.166 (talk) 23:14, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
