Some parts of this, like where it talks about a Catholic politician not listening to a Pope's decision on faith and morals (decisions which do not have the force of an Ecumenical Council), are just not true. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.249.148.164 (talk • contribs) 06:11, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Different opinion[edit]

De Naurois gives details on what a vitandus and a toleratus are that contradict part of the definition given in this WP article. He also describe a third status of excommunicate, that of notorius.^[1] I do not know what to make of this, and I am not sure if this should be mentioned in the article.
