Information

Is it just me, or does some of the trivia seem a bit stalker-ish? Michael 00:24, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

Yes, it is a bunch of mostly irrelevant trivia. For all we know, it was completely made up. Anyway, I've moved it here pending a good source (not the IMDB or similar sites, just to pre-empt):

"* Has a younger sister named Madison

  • Her nickname is Vicky
  • Long time friend with ex co-star Alexa Nikolas (Nikolas left Zoey 101 in 2006)
  • Has appeared on the cover of American Girl magazine
  • Is allergic to many animals
  • Loves mini-oreo cookies
  • Wants to learn "Hawaiian"
  • Is a straight A student
  • She was born at 12:03 in the morning
  • Has an official message board
  • Is friends with the actress Brooke Scher (Jason Goes to Hell)"

Mad Jack 01:09, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

Well, that's good. I really don't see how cookie preferences or the time she was born have a significant amount of importance to her life. Michael 01:16, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
I hope people don't get ideas from this list... Michael 08:58, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Mother's nationality

Several reverts have taken place changing her nationality from Puerto Rican to Punjabi and back. Anyone have a source for either? --TeaDrinker 01:06, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

errr.... the source cited - her official site - says Puerto Rican. That's why I cited it when I added the info. :) Mad Jack 06:25, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
Quite so; I guess I was working too fast and didn't see it... Apologies. -- TeaDrinker 20:30, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Justice's Work as a Spokesperson

Ok, So Here's the Detail. She Works with Build-A-Bear Workshop as a Spokesperson. There is NO DETAIL OF HER WORK WITH THEM IN THIS ARTICLE. But If You to Build-A-Bear Workshop Wikipedia You'll See in Key People: VIctoria Justice (spokesperson) Think they should put it here too as part of her career i think. So I'll put it. Somebody else agree?

Racial group

Why the hell does it matter to you that she has some distant links to various countries? Trace anyone back far enough, we're all African... Should we add that? J Milburn (talk) 17:08, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

You should go read up race here on wikipedia, Countries are NOT racial groups geez. There's nothing wrong with listing someone's various ethnicities if that's what they said they were in an interview so just provide a source.--76.213.233.220 (talk) 22:55, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

Victoria is not just of Irish and Puerto Rican descent, but also of English, French and German descent. Shouldn't we add that to her also since she is of all those descents?

No, just of her parents, who are identified. Traces of other descents are unnecessary trivia and dilute the usefulness of this type of categorization. Hispanic is probable but not specific in article so is speculation. --NrDg 13:15, 22 April 2008 (UTC)And she had two dogs.

The photographer will have very clearly stated that it's public domain (or under a Creative Commons license, which can also work for getting the image on Wikipedia). If the picture doesn't say, it's assumed to be under copyright and unusable by Wikipedia. —C.Fred (talk) 15:21, 21 October 2011 (UTC)

Year of birth?

Quoting from the archived About Victoria page:[1] "Born in Hollywood, Florida on February 19 at 12:03am, Victoria had just made it to being a Pisces, like her mother and grandmother before her. Victoria got the acting bug at age 8 while watching a typical children’s commercial." Do we know what year she got the acting bug? That's the only place I see where we can link her age to a date to verify her date of birth. —C.Fred (talk) 13:52, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Ya know, as for her actual birth year, I'd be inclined to try and find a source from BEFORE the marketing of her new show began, as these factories that churn out child stars are notorious for obfuscating their ages to retain appeal with their target demographic. In this case, I find it very difficult to believe she has only just turned 17. In addition to looking a couple years older, her current listed birth year would mean she was barely 13 when she started Zoey 101.
--K10wnsta (talk) 04:36, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Addendum: I agree with your earlier assessment, C.Fred, that IMDB is only weakly reliable, and as to her birth year, I wouldn't want to rely on it without also seeing some sort of archived page from a couple years ago that shows the same information. Problem is, where else could we get birth records?
--K10wnsta (talk) 04:42, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
hehe...I guess I could have just gone back to the very first version of this page (9-11-2005) to see her birthdate still listed as Feb 1993. Go ahead and disregard everything I said above, I'm very clearly retarded.
--K10wnsta (talk) 04:49, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Well, not birth records per se, but some kind of a biography that lists her date of birth. I agree that the more her show is getting marketed, the less will be revealed about her age. It may take a combination of two sources (her birthday is X, and on date Y, she was Z years old) to put the pieces together. —C.Fred (talk) 04:50, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
  • The Family Circle article has pinned it down.[2] It was published in the May 2010 issue (check the last page of the online version) and says Justice is 17. 2010−17=1993. It's a little bit of extraction of data, but it gets us to the date. —C.Fred (talk) 22:02, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

Her father is a car dealer from South Carolina

Well, we can't link to it, because there is no indication that the poster owns the copyright (which is pretty much true 99% of the time on YouTube for stuff from TV). If we had a reliable source that said she was in the commercial, we would just add a line that said something like "Justice appeared in a commercial with her father for his car dealership. + REF"Qwyrxian (talk) 14:16, 14 August 2010 (UTC) vicky my sis is a brat she treats everyone badly she pants me in puplic i was humlated my friends called me monkey but i did not like it( please note shes a diva brat )

Career - 2003–09: Beginnings and Zoey 101

"Later, Justice was awarded a role in the 2005 drama-thriller Mary. Justice portrayed the role of Stella, a young girl who begins seeing visions of Mary Magdalene. After informing her family of this, they take her to see a psychiatrist, who places her on medication. Later that night, when Mary comes back, Stella takes her medicine and ignores her. This leads Mary to give Stella's sister the task instead.[5] The film debuted at 2005 Venice Film Festival, before being showed at several other Festivals, including the 2005 Toronto Film Festival, Deauville Film Festival and San Sebastián International Film Festival." --- The "Mary" (2005) she played in was not a drama-thriller (per the linked youtube video). There were two "Mary" movies in 2005 according to www.imdb.com and the one she was in was a short presented at the 2005 Official Sundance Film Festival but not the other film festivals as mentioned. Also, the "Mary" movie she is linked to is not the right movie. I deleted her off of the cast because it was open for public editing. I am not a member though, so can some erase the link and wrong film festival mentionings and replace the with the "Sundance" one? It hurts my brain seeing the error... Ranked 66th in a list of hotties for 2012

Is there a reason it can't be reported on her page about her increasingly popular hotness as a sex symbol? One editor presently thinks not, for some reason. So, let's hear from others.

No. 66: Victoria Justice — 100 Most Mind-Numbingly Hot Women of 2012 --Katydidit (talk) 16:24, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

Yes, there is a very good reason based on Wikipedia policy. You have completely failed to provide a reasonable argument that this list is more noteworthy than hundreds of others, most of which are much more notable, such as FHM's Sexiest Women, Celebrity Sleuth Sexiest Women, E! Sexiest Women Entertainers, Askmen's Most Desirable Woman, Stuff's Sexiest Women, Maxim's Sexiest Women, Playboy's Sex Stars, Empire Magazine's Sexiest Movie Stars, People Magazine's Most Beautiful People in the World, etc., etc., etc., etc. Arbitrarily selecting one sex symbol list from hundreds just because you like it is a gross violation of WP:WEIGHT. You need much more than your opinion to restore that edit; you need a clear consensus here. Cresix (talk) 17:06, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
Who is ranking all those other lists now, but as you are doing arbitrarily? She has to start on a list *somewhere*, you just don't jump to one of your selective ones as the only ones that make it justified. Why are those others, with the exception of Playboy as the first and most well-known one, any more important--or noteworthy, as you put it? It's all just arbitrary as 'noteworthiness'. And what about the other 99 on that list which encompasses many other well-known women on the other lists you say are the only ones justified to add her. So, if she were named on any of those others you would have no objection? On what principle is your arbitrariness justified on which ones are 'noteworthy' and which ones aren't, and how do you define it in the first place? A list she makes doesn't *have* to be *more* noteworthy (however you want to personally define it) as other lists, as you insist she needs to make before it is 'justified' to mention her on her page. You still are the only one who objects. --Katydidit (talk) 01:38, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
And you still are the only one who has expressed any support for your edit. Your edit has been challenged, and the list is not notable. That's all that's required for you to need consensus, per WP:BURDEN. This is not an issue of my personal preferences or your personal preferences; it's an issue of policy. Wait for consensus here. Cresix(talk) 02:07, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
Well, I would only consider Maxim, FHM, Playboy, People, and E! to even be close to legitimate. The others are just random websites, most of which (including the one you're suggesting, Katydidit) that don't meet our reliable sources guidelines. Just because some website somewhere put her on a list doesn't mean it belongs in an encyclopedic overview of her life. Qwyrxian (talk) 01:47, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
Again, all arbitrary on you picking your five "legitimate" sources. Does that mean any other source listing is automatically a phony list or a fraud? You left out Askmen, Stuff's, Empire, and Celebrity Sleuth, aa the other editor said were *his* personal "legitimate" choices, and everything else is junk. Anyone can pick his/her personal list of those that should or should not be mentioned, proving my point it's all subjective instead of objective. --Katydidit (talk) 22:17, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
Indeed, I'm not sure any of these lad-mag lists should be included, though I understand and appreciate how one could argue that the Maxim, GQ and People lists in particular have venerability and history behind them and are widely reported on by mainstream media, whereas lists by FHM, Stuff and others are generally ignored by mainstream media. We can discuss this, I imagine, at the Biography portal, but even leaving these points aside, ranking #66 in anything is hardly notable. --Tenebrae (talk) 22:30, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

Katydidit, feel free to go to the talk page of every bio on Wikipedia that has a sex symbol list and argue that that list is not notable and should be removed. But for this article, you have provided zero evidence that your favorite list has any degree of notability compared to the hundreds of other lists, and, in fact, your repeated assertion that the notability of any list is subjective even defeats your own efforts to claim notability for your list. Nor is there any support for inclusion of your list here. I think it's time that we wrap up this silliness and move on to far more important things than achieving 66 on a list that almost no one has ever heard of. Cresix (talk) 00:08, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Understanding your concern that she was ranked "only" 66th, but at least not in the bottom third such as 88th which would more fully support your theory. So, if she was ranked in the Top 10 (or Top 20), would that change your mind? No? What if she was #5 or #2? No? Only if she was #1 would it be important (high rank) enough to add? And the other 99 who (mostly) are well-known names, same thing for them, or different if they made those other more "legitimate" lists? --Katydidit (talk) 02:44, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
You completely missed my point. Did you actually read my comment??? Let me repeat some of it, with italics for emphasis: "achieving 66 on a list that almost no one has ever heard of". And AGAIN, you fail to provide any evidence whatsoever that your favorite list is any more notable than the hundreds of others. I'm sorry to inform you, but there is no consensus of one person, and repeating the same non-argument again and again and again doesn't change that. So unless you can come up with something of substance, or unless about ten more people decide to agree with you in this discussion, this is my last comment on the matter. It's an incredible waste of time. Cresix (talk) 02:54, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
Did you even read and comprehend what I wrote? I never implied in the slightest it was my "favorite list." You must have a lot of speculations going on in your head to say something that ridiculous. I merely said it waa a list that should be considered because it had many other women on the list who were also on the other lists you say are more important, so you are also knocking those other women at the same time. And why is '10' (a large number on these talk pages) your "magic number" of other editors who have to agree with me before you might change your mind? Why isn't four good enough? I know I haven't had four, but 10 is also plainly ridiculous which I've rarely (if ever) seen on a talk page when weighing one side or another. --Katydidit (talk) 22:32, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Actually, at least with People, GQ, and Maxim, there is a specific, "objective" reason for including them: the lists and people's placement on the lists is re-reported in other reliable sources. In other words, other newspapers and magazines consider those lists to be important enough to talk about; that's how we decide the same. Of course, I could still see someone arguing that the info isn't worth including per WP:UNDUE (say if someone only made one list, low on the ranking, one year), but since no one has ever bothered to re-report the "guyspeed" listing, we shouldn't put it here. The argument has been used that #2 is preferred simply because it is newer. I find #2 annoying because her hair has been uncharacteristically colored gray or white in the back. Thanks for any comments. Cresix (talk) 22:56, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Discography

We should make victoria justice Discography separate because I think she has enough info to make it seperate like eve Zendaya have one seperate and victoria did so much more than her so can we at least try. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.187.227.220 (talk) 14:43, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

No. The length of the article and the size of her discography doesn't come close to what is needed to have a separate article for her discography. Cresix (talk) 15:17, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

But there is more to her discography that is not added on the page like the music video's she did or the album appearances she was in or the victorious 3.0 and her solo album coming out next year — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.187.227.220 (talk) 15:18, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Then wait until it gets long enough. Cresix (talk) 15:28, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Countdown

Countdown was released this year not last year can someone fix it — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.187.227.220 (talk) 15:29, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

What source do you have for that release date? —C.Fred (talk) 18:17, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

If you go to iTunes it says it was released February 2012 and also You're the reason a single (Acoustic Version) cuz victoria said it during a interview last year on Clever TV — Preceding unsigned comment added by Randis101 (talkcontribs) 19:53, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

You have to give us specifics, such as the link to the iTunes page, or some way the interview can be accessed for verification. Additionally, we need to know that no other outlet had it available before iTunes if that is the source. Cresix (talk) 23:41, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

Sorry I tried to put a photo to prove that countdown came out this year but I don't know how to but like it did come out this year becuz if you check Victorious 2.0 Wikipedia page it says February 28, 2012 so it doesn't make sense for one page to say 2011 and the other page to say 2012 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Randis101 (talkcontribs) 20:39, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

I doubt that a photo will confirm anything, but I can't say that for sure unless I see the photo. As for the Victorious 2.0 page, Wikipedia cannot source itself; but even if it could, it's not sourced in that article either. Give us a link, and one that demonstrates it was released worldwide in 2012, not just by iTunes. Cresix (talk) 20:50, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Ok then what source told you it came out in 2011 then cuz if you really watch victorious the you would be able to know it came out this year it is literally impossible for it to come out last year. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Randis101 (talkcontribs) 23:03, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

What is seen on a TV show does not confirm that the music could not have been released earlier. Instead of arguing about this, spend a little time finding a reliable source. Please understand something important: Wikipedia doesn't change things just because one editor such as yourself says to change it, even if the change is accurate. If things were done that way, this would not be an encyclopedia; it would be a huge mess of personal opinions. "The threshold for inclusion on Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth." You can work with us on this and find a source, or you can spend your time on a project that does not require verification. Cresix (talk) 23:12, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Topless?

Should it be noted that she has topless photo/s? <WP:BLP issues>. Now I'm not sure if this (or if there are more, these) are real or fake. If fake, should it be noted that it's fake and sh has been blackmailed? Just like how it's done on Elin_Nordegren (Tiger Wood's ex-wife) page?

No, this is a WP:BLP violation, and even if it is true, this should not be noted unless a reliable source back it up. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 01:28, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Discography

Can victoria please have a discrogragphy Cause She has a pretty decent amount of Singles, 4 Soundtracks, 9 music videos and more so I think she should have a discrogragphy — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.187.227.220 (talk) 21:34, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Huh? There is a discography in the article. I don't understand what you're asking. Qwyrxian (talk) 22:51, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
I think the request is for a separate discography article. Such a thing seems to be a status symbol for the Disney Channel/Nickelodeon crowd.—Kww(talk) 22:55, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Yes that is what I am asking for and sorry for the extra section I thought this section didnt make it through the first time — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.187.227.220 (talk) 23:44, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

Her discography is relatively small and doesn't overwhelm this article. Given that she hasn't charted in years, there's very little reason to believe that her disccography will grow substantially in the future.—Kww(talk) 23:58, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
Ah, I see the point. Kww is correct here. We don't create separate discography articles as a badge of success; rather, the question is how much space does the discography occupy in the article. As Kww says, it's not disproportionate here; of course, if she records more in the future, the matter could be reconsidered. Qwyrxian (talk) 00:29, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Victoria deserves a discography because she has A lot of singles from victorious and her Debut solo single comes out she has been in at least 9 music videos, 4 soundtracks, a debut album coming soon, Two albums appearances, 3 Promotional singles, and 1 charity single. I am pretty sure that is enough to make a discography if I am wrong plz correct me — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.187.227.220 (talk) 23:43, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

1. URGENT: Paragraph under "Career" - "2010 - 2013: Victorious" - "Justice had the opportunity to share a recording set during the series' recordings, with different young artists who, like her, were in search of artistic possibilities, some of them were Ariana Grande, JC Gonzalez, Leon Thomas III, Matt Bennett, Jake Farrow, Elizabeth Gillies, among others, participating in several seasons dominated by episodes such as The Bird Scene, Tori the Zombie and Survival of the Hottest." --> does not make any sense / false information. Justice never recorded with "JC Gonzalez", "Matt Bennett" or "Jake Farrow". The line "young artists who... were in search of artistic possibilities" is a bit confusing/misleading - the songs recorded were for the show, not for their own musical careers. And finally: "participating in several seasons dominated by episodes such as The Bird Scene, Tori the Zombie and Survival of the Hottest" - incorrect grammar (also doesn't even make any sense)... Episodes such as "Survival of the Hottest" & "Tori the Zombie" didn't even have any accompanying original music (I don't know who wrote that/what they were trying to say - but it doesn't make any sense). What to change it to - I would go from: "...broadcast of this episode took place following the 2010 Kids' Choice Awards. The show released three soundtracks throughout its run, with Justice taking the lead on the majority of the songs, spawning three Billboard Hot 100 hits."

2. INCORRECT: "2013-Present Continued Acting & Music" --> "In August 2014, Billboard revealed that Justice had left Columbia Records, but was recording new music to be released in 2015. Two songs have premiered on Justice's YouTube channel, including "Girl Up."[34] "Girl Up" was written by Justice and Toby Gad for the Girl Up movement, which helps girls in developing countries." - INCORRECT (Girl Up premiered prior to the release of Gold & it was never confirmed she was releasing music in 2015). Change to: "In August of 2014, Billboard reported that Justice had left Columbia Records due to creative differences. Justice has continued to work on music independently but states that acting is her priority." RobbieN007 (talk) 11:59, 25 July 2019 (UTC)

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. You need to provide sources for both. Compounding things is that the sources don't appear to support what we say currently about Justice leaving Columbia. We need to source that; otherwise, that information will wind up needing to need removed from the article. —C.Fred (talk) 17:19, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
