As far as I can see, this has to be a stub as there are no references. From WikiProject Trains' Quality scale - Start Class:

...should satisfy fundamental content policies such as notability and BLP, and provide enough sources to establish verifiability.

Anyone from WikiProject Trains care to suggest why this qualifies as Start-class? Even better, shall we work together to add some references so it actually is? --Peeky44 (talk) 00:17, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming?[edit]

I have checked three books I have on the IoW Railway network that cover the Ventnor stations and none refer to this station being renamed Ventnor Town from 1923 to 1953, so I have added citation needed tags to this. This also affects the page Ventnor Town railway station which is really a disambiguation page, though not labelled as such. If there is no citation for provided after a suitable time What would this be?) this I think that the reference should be removed from this page and Ventnor Town railway station should be made a redirect to Ventnor West railway station JDLeonard — Preceding undated comment added 20:52, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have read more histories of the Isle of Wight Railways and not com across any reference to this station being renamed to Ventnor Town after the Other Station was renamed Ventor West, and seen photos of the Station in Southern Days with the sign just saying Ventnor. the Southern Railway email group (sremg.org.uk maps page and the one for Ventnor make no mention either)> I know it is hard to prove a negative, but I will remove the reference to renaming this station to Ventnor Town JDLeonard (talk) 00:50, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Tunnel?[edit]

So what happened to the tunnel? Was it filled in? One entrance was near this station site. It basically is a dead-end into the hillside now. Where was the opposite end? --208.65.188.23 (talk) 03:37, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The tunnel has been repurposed, and is used by the Water board as it carries a water pipe down one side and a sewage trough on the other. Aquizard 23:04, 26 April 2023 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aquizard (talkcontribs)
