It is mentioned in her article that she has never gone past A5 in chest, well it is wrong. In the song "I wanna be your everything" she has hit B5 in chest and D6 in superhead(almost whistle). Also in some of her live performances in UK and Germany she has constantly hit this chest note in songs like "Free UR mind", "Absolutely everybody", and in the tv show called Starstruck she covered a Janis Joplin song "Piece of my heart" where she rocked the audience with her B5 chest belting harping on that note for almost 3 seconds. TELEVISION

Opened the Sydney 2000 Olympics, performing “Heroes Live Forever” to nearly 4 billion viewers.

Not only was Vanessa invited to perform at the Opening Ceremony, but she also took part in the Closing Ceremony where she sang ‘Absolutely Everybody’.

In addition, Vanessa performed ‘The Power’ and ‘Shine’ at the Opening Ceremony of the Paralympic Games, which was broadcast in 80 countries.

January 2005 saw Vanessa in her first permanent television role when she joined the cast of StarStruck (the Nine Network’s talent show) as one of the show’s two permanent judges.

SPECIAL SKILLS

At the age of 14, Vanessa began volunteer work, helping disadvantaged children. The impact of making friends with children that had a terminal illness was to have a lasting effect on Vanessa who continues to work for the betterment and welfare of children through her involvement in Kids Help-Line and as a patron of the Variety Club. Vanessa also enjoyed a short period training with the army, but fortunately for the entertainment industry and her fans, was soon back in the civilian world continuing to sing.

As mentioned earlier, Vanessa also takes an active interest in the welfare of children. One of her dreams is to establish a farm where disadvantaged kids will be able to visit and interact with the many animals she intends to keep.


OTHER PERFORMANCES

In January 2004, Vanessa and her band performed at a gala black-tie dinner in Los Angeles as a part of a 10 day festival promoting Australia to United States business leaders and investors. The event was staged by the Australian Trade Commission and Vanessa received a standing ovation.

In June 2004, after being invited to do so at the personal invitation of the Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. John Howard, Vanessa performed “Heroes Live Forever” (her song from the 2000 Olympics) at the Prime Minister’s Olympic Dinner in Melbourne. Vanessa was accompanied by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, The John Farnham Band and an 80 piece choir.

There is another Vanessa Amorosi website. Its not her official website, but a website put together and maintained by fans - with regular updates, interviews etc. I think it is well worth adding. 1983 birth date[edit]

No offense but that's obviously a typo on her official site. She's the oldest sibling and that age would make her younger than her sister, Melissa. All sources use 1981 except this one. Also her original site stated she graduated and got her license in 1999. (Copying this from my talk). We got an email from her agent asserting that very date and complaining just as vehemently about people reverting it back to 1981. This is quite likely to be a case where a misprint on a site some time ago has been propagated around the Internet, with each site using one of the other sites as a source and so on. This isn't the first time that misinformation about a person has been cascaded around because people didn't do fact checking before writing stories. So who should we believe? Fan sites or the official representative? The agent also added the birth date to the biography at http://www.ralphcarr.com/web/rcm.htm to confirm the exact date with us and to provide us with a source for use in the article that can be independently verified by someone without access to Wikipedia emails. (Note on 7 August 2017 by another user) Besides in her biography at https://web.archive.org/web/20140301112645/http://www.ralphcarr.com/web/rcm.htm, her management also used the 1983 birth date in a tweet on her official and also personal using Twitter account: https://twitter.com/VanessaAmorosi/status/427564570514059264. RCM (Ralph Carr Management) wrote on 26 January 2014: "Vanessa at 15 years old", together with a link to a Youtube video that shows a really young looking Vanessa Amorosi, performing an acoustic version of "Have a Look" on MTV. If she were born in 1981, it's impossible that she was 15 years old in this video, because the song didn't exist in 1996/1997. The video was included on the German release of the "Have a Look" single in 2001. Originally, the song was released in July 1999. But, based on this tweet on her own Twitter account and that she looked so young in that video - although there are contradictions to all of the older sources - it is currently not completely excluded that she was 15 years old in 1998/1999 and born in 1983. 88.128.80.3 (talk) 14:18, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Additions to the note from 7 August 2017 - She also said herself that she was 16 years old in 1999. Before performing "Have a Look" at the Perth Telethon in 2008, she said: "This next number was my first single when I was 16, so if you can remember back in 1999..." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVAJ-bUXbaY. Originally released in July 1999, "Have a Look" was her first single till her second single "Absolutely Everybody" was released in November 1999.
