Accuracy[edit]
This article was accurate in 1908, but much of the canon law that it contains has been completely changed. (For example, "For the granting of sanatio in radice a special apostolic faculty is required" is no longer true.) I'm working on another article right now, but I hope to get to fix this in turn. -- Cat Whisperer 02:00, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
Confusing[edit]
This article was very very confusing for me, a non-Catholic, to understand. Please clarify. I came here for answers when I read a newspaper story about the convalidation of marriage. This situation and article can be confusing when you are not already familiar with the canon law of the Catholic Church. This is because the concepts are primarily based in a juridic system that is different from the Anglo-Saxon common law system. While the article is accurate, it also not completely intended to be an exhaustive explanation of the law. For particular questions, I would suggest you contact your local Catholic parish. I am guessing (from the information on the page) the much of the information was from the Code of Canon Law of 1917 and older laws. I have updated and referenced using ( ) rather than footnotes. If anyone knows how to put the ref tags in, please feel free. FWIW, I am a canon lawyer.
