Talk[edit]

This article is currently taken almost word for word from Merriam Webster's Encyclopedia of Literature (p. 623), with minor changes like adding the information about his brother. I will edit it according to other sources, but it will need more work.--Languagehat 00:22, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm working on changing that. AllenHansen (talk) 19:15, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know how to go about changing this, but howzabout "Kataev" gives you a disambiguation page rather than redirecting you to an asteroid? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.188.193.205 (talk) 05:49, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Kataev" is now a disambiguation page. --I NEVER CRY 20:57, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Correct ethnicity[edit]

Although the actual place name for his place of birth is correct to the era, it is now part of Ukraine and this author is ethnically Ukrainian on his mother's side and was raised in what is now Ukraine and was then culturally in conflict. He's currently called "Russian and Soviet" in the opening paragraph. This is especially important because the writers and intellectuals of Ukraine were heavily targeted by the Soviet leadership.
