Luminosity[edit]

That low a luminosity value for a giant star with 11 solar radii seems a little suspect to me, but that's what the references list. Praemonitus (talk)

Although the Vizie tables don't make it clear, the luminosity values are logarithms which expand to much more sensible values. To be honest, it takes a bit of digging even in the paper to see this, so hardly surprising Vizie got it wrong. CADARS is not necessarily a very reliable source though. Although it is itself a relatively recent database, many of its entries are from 50 or more years ago and wildly inaccurate. A more modern estimate would actually be about 7 R, but I didn't spot any references for that in a quick search. I'll correct the article. Lithopsian (talk) 22:15, 22 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
