Removal of Orphan Tag[edit]

Just a brief note of thanks to Shiftchange for tidying up the article. I have added links, and I believe there should be more than the necessary number indicated in Section 4.4 of Wikipedia Orphan for the article to be de-orphaned. I'll wait a few days before doing this, though, to see if there is further discussion. Jamessmithpage (talk) 18:08, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Actually there is no change since the Orphan tag was added. If you click the What links here link from the article and then select article pages only, you will see there are no pages that link to United Nations Association of Australia (Queensland) Community Award except for 2 redirect pages which aren't counted. - 22:26, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for that. I've now included two ingoing links to the article. Jamessmithpage (talk) 02:41, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Further to the above, I believe there are now three ingoing links to the article. I will still wait a further few days before taking any further action, in order to allow for further comment. Jamessmithpage (talk) 02:09, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You might want to add it to the List of prizes, medals, and awards. - Shiftchange (talk) 02:45, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, will have a look at that. Thanks again for your assistance with the article generally. Regards Jamessmithpage (talk) 05:50, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable Sources[edit]

Hello PeskyCommoner and others, and thanks PC for your reading of the article and contribution. However I was wondering if you might provide some clarification. The article cites as sources the UNAA of Qld Brochure and the UNAA of Qld Newsletter. Now, as you would be aware, the UNAA Qld is an organization with the Governor of Queensland as Patron. Is it your contention that the above are not reliable sources? Jamessmithpage (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 12:00, 11 October 2011 (UTC).[reply]

I didn't think the refimprove tag was appropriate as the article was so short and had 2 citations already. It probably should be removed. - Shiftchange (talk) 12:25, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. My thinking, however, is not to do anything for a few days more, to enable any others to enter into discussion on this issue, should they so desire. BTW, my reference to PeskyCommoner should in fact be to ThePeskyCommoner. Jamessmithpage (talk) 10:27, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just an update on this article. I've included two further references which are independent of the UNAAQ. I think that Shiftchange was correct (and BTW thanks Shiftchange for this) in applying the primary sources tag at the top of the article back in October of last year. I think this problem has been now addressed. What I propose to do is to delete the primary sources tag later in the week - however if you think this action may be problematic please don't hesitate to indicate here in this talk page. Jamessmithpage (talk) 21:30, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Postscript. I believe there will be a further independent reference available within the coming week. Therefore I will not take any action until that further independent reference becomes available. Jamessmithpage (talk) 23:52, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've just added the further independent reference alluded to above. This now means there are 2 UNAAQ references to the article, and 3 nonUNAAQ references. As there has been no comment to the contrary about removing the tag, I will do so now. Trust this is OK with everyone. Jamessmithpage (talk) 22:14, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
