Relevance to Edmund (Toby) Barton[edit]

Can anyone say with any certainty that this brand name was not a reference to Edmund (Toby) Barton - who came to National prominence in 1891 at the National Australasian Convention? It seems a little more than coincidental. --Marcus Anderson (talk) 02:14, 16 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I can't. But I'd love to see a reliable source which substantiated this theory. Meticulo (talk) 12:21, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
