Nationality of Recipient[edit]

How do you determine the nationality of the recipient? For example, Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her, is listed as Colombian, but the movie page (and most of the actors) mentions US as the country of origin. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.87.19.198 (talk) 17:56, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality and flags[edit]

The lists are giving undue weight to the Nationality of Recipient, especially so with all the flag icons. To say the least, this goes against the grain of this section. The Prize goes to a person and his film, not to his country. It's not like in the Olympic Games, and these lists look like international sport events, instead of the Un Certain Regard of the Cannes Film Festival. Hoverfish Talk 17:52, 8 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As for the note on "first win for a country", this is an invention here, such a thing does not get mentioned in Cannes and I doubt very much that a source can be found mentioning such a issue. Hoverfish Talk 23:22, 16 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

1978 or 1998?[edit]

Was it introduced in 1978 by Gilles Jacob? Cos the rest of the article indicates 1998. 84.67.116.161 (talk) 07:51, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
