The 054B specs are, at this time, speculated and not confirmed. Adeptitus (talk) 16:54, 2 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Just like the 004 carrier, the 095 submarine and the 096 submarine. It's an article about a future warship and the speculative element is clearly defined in the beginning of the article. Specific numbers are not given for most armament. Markg002 (talk) 14:19, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Are there any non-Chinese source for this article?[edit]

There are apparently no concrete sources (other than two newspaper articles with somewhat jingoistic titles) to confirm the existence of this vessel. If no other sources can be found, should it be deleted or merged as a subsection into the Type 054A article as a "possible successor"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jerry6527 (talkcontribs) 12:45, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:NONENG, the usage of non-English language sources is fully acceptable on Wikipedia in cases where English language sources are absent, few, or inadequate. As more English language sources appear over time, they can gradually be updated with newer sources. --benlisquareTCE 16:57, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Concerning the sources:

The Wikipedia article overstates what is being said in http://mil.news.sina.com.cn/2013-08-22/0902736685.html. That article says that a Chinese ministry reports developing an integrated electric propulsion system, and that it is likely to be used in future Chinese warships. It does not say that the 054B exists, or that the 054B is in development, or that the propulsion system is intended for the 054B. The article's author is merely extrapolating that the propulsion system might be suitable for some future ship that the author has decided to name the 054B. So this article actually isn't relevant to the subject; it doesn't provide any solid information on either the existence or form of the 054B. And to top i

http://mil.news.sina.com.cn/2014-02-13/1713764118.html merely provides the name of an individual associated with the propulsion system; it provides nothing related to the 054B.

http://mil.chinaiiss.com/html/20138/7/a6156f.html is an opinion piece; there's a disclaimer at the bottom saying that it's a user-submitted article. Combined with the article's age (2013), the dubious captioning of the images, and the failure of the 054B to materialize since the article was written, I think it's safe to say it is not a reliable source.

So this article has no reliable sources. WP:NONENG does not supercede WP:RS. Unless reliable sources, English or otherwise, can be found, this article should be done away with, and mentions of the Type 054B removed everywhere (WP:CRYSTAL). - RovingPersonalityConstruct (talk, contribs) 20:06, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Rick Joe and East Pendulum are not a Chinese sources. Also you are known for vandalizing pages about warships and have had multiple complaints and warnings in the past. Markg002 (talk) 14:17, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Something to keep in mind[edit]

Medias don't cover small ships as much as future aircraft carriers for obvious reasons. The Chinese navy is not very public about its projects either so analysts are what we rely on. Markg002 (talk) 14:56, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Likely Armaments[edit]

At the very least the new Type 054B should have at least the same armament as the Type 054A, if not better. This means that the generic "anti-submarine rocket launchers" are likely the 8 barrelled Type 75 launcher (two sets are fitted on the 054A), the CIWS may also be the Type 1130 rather than Type 730.

I am still researching this and will update once I have verifiable references. Rags17 (talk) 00:59, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
