After creating this article as a copy/paste I discovered the text of the source article had no information at all about the lighthouse and then, for reasons I investigated for over an hour, that the infobox was unusable (invalid map). Hence nothing at all remains from the source article. Thincat (talk) 07:25, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have seen this issue with the map previously. I am not sure what causes it but it normally fixes itself within a short period. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 11:44, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@MSGJ: I can't tell you exactly what happened but the map appeared somewhat to one side of its bounding box leaving a white area. The location of the lighthouse was not in the part of the map displayed. When I dragged the map so the location was visible, no marker appeared. The infobox was an exact copy/paste of what was in Turnberry Castle including the qid parameter. All this was in the newly created User:Thincat/sandbox. I experimented with so many ideas (previewing without saving) I have no idea what I tried. I had a year or so back created Girdle Ness Lighthouse (where I don't recall any difficulties) so I also looked there for clues. My eventual theory was that the problem might be that I was operating in user space but after moving to main I didn`t try the infobox again. Thincat (talk) 14:30, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Would you mind if I moved this to Turnberry Lighthouse (with a capital L)? I have no particular preference but it would keep it consistent with all the other lighthouses in Scotland. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:03, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@MSGJ: No, of course not. Some people have strong views on such matters but I'm not one of them. It's fortunate it isn't the Trump–Turnberry lighthouse or there would also be ndash problems! Thincat (talk) 13:57, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
