GA check[edit]

I am working my way through the Good articles listed at Places; having a quick look to see if they still meet the Good article criteria. I have landed on this article. After I've had a quick look, I'll leave a note here indicating if I have concerns or not. In general, I see the process as this: 1) Give the article a quick look to see if there are obvious issues: maintenance tags, unsourced sections, excessive media, etc, resolving any minor issues as I do so; 2) If I have concerns, open a GAR to see how serious those concerns are, resolving them myself if they are not serious; 3) If during the GAR I feel that there is significant work to be done (more than I can or am willing to do myself), I will put the GAR on hold and notify the main contributors. Green tickY Article looks fine. No obvious concerns. SilkTork ✔Tea time 21:06, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Geographical Location[edit]

Some of the distance figures in the article are funky. Specifically the statement - Tubas is 21 kilometers (13 mi) northeast of Nablus, 3.7 kilometers (2.3 mi) west of the Jordan River and 63 kilometers (39 mi) east of the Mediterranean Sea. A rough map measurement (from the center of town) shows ~17kms from the Jordan, ~14-18kms from Nablus (which is stretched out - depends on spot), and ~48 kms from the Mediterranean Sea. While the less problematic 21 km figure is repeated in other language wikis (but notable not the Arabic which has a different figures) - the wikis I looked at don't repeat the Jordan River or the Mediterranean Sea figure. The Mediterranean Sea figure I totally don't understand. The Jordan river figure quoted - might be the distance from the town center to the beginning of Area C (West Bank) in the Bik'at HaYarden Regional Council - which is around 3-4kms - but this is not the river. I can't find a written source stating proper distances (This source - [1] does say 3km from Jordan River - but it isn't sourced and seems to be in error) - suggestions? Remove? Fix per map measurement?Icewhiz (talk) 10:02, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the unreliable distance information - as they seem to be a clear outright error. This needs improvement with reliable distance figures.Icewhiz (talk) 07:17, 8 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
