This page was a couple years out of date. Bondage-a-Go-Go still happens every Wednesday, but a couple months ago, Death Guild moved back to DNA (where it's still going strong). During the time Death Guild was at the Glas Kat, they ran most of their special nights (from live concerts to multi-club events) at DNA.

The Glas Kat temporarily replaced DG with a similar club on the same night, called Deathwish, but that club has since ended, after one successful night was followed by swiftly declining attendance. Some of the personnel from Deathwish, together with people from Death Guild and other area "dark scene" clubs, will be starting a new club (called either Panzerglas, Shatterproof, or Die, Machines) some time in February (not on Mondays).

Thunderdome has also taken on a life outside of Burning Man, with two parties/year at a location in the East Bay.

Also, I don't know the status of their licenses, but most events at the Glas Kat close at 2am, which is sharply different from the old Troc days. The most notable benefits of the venue to promoters in 2009 are the (quasi-legal) indoor smoking longue and the 18-and-up age limit (which DNA recently also got, which was the main stumbling block to Death Guild moving there in recent years).

Most of this information probably isn't notable, so I just updated the "as of 2007" to "as of 2009" for BAGG, and slightly changed the DG paragraph to indicate that it's no longer at Glas Kat. If anyone wants to include any more information, I can find sources, but I doubt any of it's worth adding (especially since Death Guild itself is a redlink).

It was also called "The Bridge" for a period in the 90's - I'm confused as to whether that was an "event" (all rock shows as I recall) at the Trocadero, or if the name was changed for a time.GXIndiana (talk) 14:14, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Language in article[edit]

The article needs work, the stairs from the balcony aka 'crystal staircase' had absolutely nothing to do with black men or black street slang AKA ebonics but it was about crystal meth. The troc was mainly for white gay and bisexual men and not many black men went there as there were bars and clubs for black gay and bi men in Oakland, and it was not really a disco for drag queens or whatever "Gender illusionists" are as described in the article. 100.34.234.175 (talk) 03:15, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
