Talk:Trimley railway station

What was the name of the disused station between Derby Road and Trimley? It can still be seen in the woods near Nacton.

Stevie Smith in her tedious book "Novel On Yellow Paper" says that there was a station called Orwell after Derby Road, and also indicates that it was in use when she published the book in 1936. But I would have thought that if its the same station, its name was more likely to be Nacton. I've wondred if she was simply doing a bit of flirting with George Orwell, who she knew.

Or perhaps not[edit]

Orwell was the name of the station alright, it was built to serve Orwell Park House, stately pile of the infamous Col Tomline and before him Admiral 'Grog' Vernon, hence the name. I've included a little bit of history with the Trimley entry, but is it possible to insert closed stations into open lines on Wiki or would this be a separate category?
