Question[edit]

Was this by any chance the act which made it treason to kill Mary's consort, Philip of Spain? Richard75 (talk) 23:32, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly, it certainly mentions him, I have added a link to the text. James500 (talk) 14:30, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I will add this. Richard75 (talk) 17:23, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Long title[edit]

The long title that I put in the article was taken out of the second schedule to the Statute Law Revision Act 1948 (published in the Public General Acts and Measures 1948, vol.II). I do not doubt that it was correct. The idea of standardised spellings of words didn't come in until Johnson's dictionary in 1755 (shortly before Pickering's book was published). Pickering has changed the long title.James500 (talk) 17:40, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Recovering long title from page history: "An Acte whereby certayne Offences bee made Treasons; and also for the Government of the Kinges and Quenes Majesties Issue".James500 (talk) 17:46, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In that case we should put it back in. I will add a note about why it differs from the source you linked to. Richard75 (talk) 18:44, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
