This article[edit]

Really? That's crazy! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.198.168.12 (talk) 12:22, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article could really use some statistics. Does anyone have access to statistics?--Terriblefish (talk) 19:00, 5 March 2008 (UTC) The Summary table is misleading because it talks of LGBT rights and not specifically transgender rights. Lumping Gay people in with Transgender is not accepted by all transgender people. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.76.240.49 (talk) 08:55, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

BBC article[edit]

I came across this article on the Washington Blade website. I'm not very familiar with this subject, so if someone wants to add to the article with info from the link, please do. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 06:46, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That BBC article with its false claim that "Today [in 2008], Iran carries out more sex change operations than any other nation in the world except for Thailand." is a disgrace. Who are the Iranian SRS surgeons? Where are the website of those Iranian urologists who carry out SRS? Who is traveling to Iran for SRS? Aren't Iranians themselves traveling to Thailand and other countries for SRS?--58.142.9.141 (talk) 18:07, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding this and this, we go by what WP:Reliable sources state vs. what Wikipedia editors (IPs or registered editors) state. The BBC News passes as a WP:Reliable sources. Your "accuracy" tag needs to be justified by you providing reliable sources here on the talk page that contradict and/or dispute what the BBC News source states. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 02:45, 13 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Transhealthcare.org is not as strong of a source. It doesn't pass a WP:Reliable source. But you can ask about it at the WP:Reliable sources noticeboard. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 02:49, 13 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Iran has one capable doctor, Bahram Mir-Jalali, that account for most of the statistics regarding operations in Iran. Most other Iranian doctors does not produce proper results of the surgery and should be avoided. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.76.240.49 (talk) 08:51, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Transgenders don't get surgery[edit]

Transgender is a very degrading thing to call a TS. TSism is a medical condition, TGism is a choice. TSs need/get surgery, transgenders don't. TGism is a type of LGBT conduct, TSism is the bith defect of HBS, and unlike TGs, TSs have mainstream values.--74.124.187.76 (talk) 05:10, 16 March 2009 (UTC) No, you don't know what you're talking about. Intersexuality. 98.235.19.177 (talk) 02:00, 6 October 2009 (UTC) This depend on how transgender is defined. Some TS use the word, not as an umbrella term but as a synonym for TS in order to avoid the the term "sexual" in "transsexual." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.76.240.49 (talk) 08:36, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Homosexual people coerced into transgenderism[edit]

I propose this article should talk about this issue. I'm actually shocked there isn't any information on this. Here's a BBC article: http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-29832690 Xanikk999 (talk) 04:03, 4 March 2018 (UTC) The BBC program is misleading. There is no evidence that Homosexuals are forced to have a sexchange on purpose. Some homosexuals might do that on their own behalf because they think it will be better for them, but it is usually not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.76.240.49 (talk) 08:42, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Transsexuality in IranTransgender rights in Iran – It's appropriate to name this article using the same naming standards used for other countries in the category of Category:Transgender rights.--2601:C4:C001:289E:750E:5ACE:CDF8:5693 (talk) 21:44, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support for nominated reasons, but why not just rename this yourself? It doesn't appear to be controversial and looks to be supported by existing naming convention (and the proposed article doesn't exist, so doesn't need admin intervention). For the time being, I have chosen to not create an account. Hence, I can't move the page.--2601:C4:C001:289E:750E:5ACE:CDF8:5693 (talk) 18:06, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No civil rights for trans women in Iran[edit]

This article is so misleading in its current form that one would think that Iran currently has senior government officials who are trans. The only thing trans women can do is legal gender change after surgery. No discrimination protections in education and employment exist in Iran for trans women. Also, Iranian urologists are quite lousy and don't know how to perform bottom surgery.--58.142.9.141 (talk) 18:02, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
