Tony Miles did indeed suffer bouts of mental illness. Punching Sam Sloan is, however, a sign of mental health. Reference to Forrest Gump wannabe deleted. Billbrock 23:37, 12 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This event seems to have gone from the article, although it's mentioned this this article at the Daily Telegraph, written shortly after his death. "By 1986, most regarded Short as Britain's best player, but Miles was a team selector and Short was chosen as number three board - with Miles at board one - at the Dubai Chess Olympiad. A journalist who questioned this judgment in print was punched in the face by Miles for his pains." -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 16:56, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
