I do hope I am doing this correctly -- I've never added anything to Wikipedia before, although I've thought about! So I'm just learning all of the guidelines.

I signed up because there were two things in this article on Tony Furtado that bothered me. The first is really rather a minor detail -- it says that "At the ripe age of 19, Furtado had already earned himself a reputation ... winning two National Bluegrass Banjo Championships." Just basic math will tell you this is incorrect: he was 20 when he one the FIRST of his Championships, 24 when he won the second (unless his birth date is reported incorrectly!). I realize that's picky -- but it's the sort of detail that makes one distrust a site.

The second thing is, I fear, much more serious. There are two paragraphs under Recording and Performance, beginning with "If you’ve followed Tony Furtado’s prolific music career at all you won’t be surprised to know that his 15th album..." and ending with "... And while his award-winning playing and unforgettable leads are present throughout, it is his vocal presence, diverse arrangements and songwriting that take center stage on Golden."

Word for word, those two paragraphs are on Tony Furtado's website -- I can't say where they originally began, but someone is copying someone without any citation or links! I'm pretty sure this is a copyright violation on someone's part.

I'm not at all sure what to do with this information -- so am posting here and will continue to explore the guidelines. Lauren48K (talk) 21:27, 12 November 2011 (UTC)Lauren48K[reply]
