Copyedits[edit]

Here are some of the copyedits that I am trying to preserve by reverting the anonymous editor's reversion of this article to a previous version:

  • "representing the 18th district since 2005" > "who has represented the...." -- more grammatically correct
  • "currently he is serving as the..." > "He is the...." - simpler, avoids redundancy of "currently\...is..." - the present tense indicates the current condition, so sticking "currently" in front of it doesn't change the meaning, it just adds an unnecessary word.
  • "he opted to replace her" > "he sought to replace her" -- it wasn't his choice to replace her -- the voters decided to elect him to replace her.

It may be necessary to protect this article to prevent this vandalism. Ground Zero | t 23:22, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Switch to judge[edit]

I added the basic info about Grendell resigning from the Ohio State Senate and becoming a judge, but more changes may be needed. It's unclear to me if we need to replace the infobox with something different; but I'm not really all that interested in editing articles on state politics, so I'll leave the rest to others. I don't understand why people are reverting the changes to the lead and infobox. Per [www.ohiosenate.gov/directory.html], the current Senator from the 18th district is John Eklund. Qwyrxian (talk) 02:13, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Controversies: Great Lakes Compact section needs improvement[edit]

The source quoted does not seem to support the accompanying narrative, which claims that Grendell opposed the Compact for no apparent reason. This paragraph should note his work to pass the Compact, but also mention the portion that he opposed and why he opposed it. The tone of the paragraph is somewhat pejorative, as opposed to stating easily-verifiable facts. 66Veritas (talk) 22:25, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
