"The-former" and other copyedits[edit]

  • "the duo's then-former home" is just a confusing statement, and it isn't necessary in the lead paragraph. The situation is more clearly explained further down in the article: "The program gained a television simulcast on Micallef and Seixeiro's previous home, The Score (now Sportsnet 360)"
  • There is no need to repeat incidental information -- like the fact that The Score is now Sportsnet 360. We can assume that readers will understand it the first time they read it. Repetition of incidental information makes the article tedious and boring.
  • We spell out acronyms the first time we use them, like NHL, because not all readers understnad them. Wikipedia has an international readership. See WP:ACRONYM, and we generally don't repeat links, especially in short articles -- See WP:REPEATLINK.

Herdsman  ![edit]

Tim,

There you all go opinion sports analysis (OSA) .... set athletic talent and soccer level of the Canada Team aside .... what ever happened to Role Modeling .... I as a veteran high performance athlete and coach .... I don't want a man leading my country in soccer sport destroying our favourable world view as a courteous fair minded sports competitors (representing me) ..... with effff attitude, while opponents wait to shake hands he calls his charges to centerfield for the John Herdman Show (this is to be done in after handshaking or in the locker meeting room), anti-sportsmanship (not shaking hands other team Coach etc ..... ) and telling us that is OK .... well it's not ... we have trained, instilled, and demonstrated being respectful losers to our youth and in Canadian Sports in general .... During a venue in front of the world this guy (regardless of resume) has changed my view and the world view of Canadians (in a negative light) .... moreover signalling to the youth of Canada's fastest growing sport ..... winning is more important than being a gracious and noble loser (play your best and have fun) ..... that is the greatest lesson ..... you keep defending these actions and ignore the TRUTH ..... Fire Herdman (really who is this guy  ???) .... this topic will never be posted or read .... as winning is the GOAL ....
