Sumter High/USC[edit]

Is it really relevant to say that both USC and Sumter High use the Gamecock as a mascot? Zchris87v 02:32, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Timberlake Expedition[edit]

Why is there such a long description of the Timberlake Expedition in this biography, especially as it is mostly a duplication of the biography of Henry Timberlake? Surely the expedition should be briefly mentioned with a reference to the Henry Timberlake page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mark Carden (talkcontribs) 19:38, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I find the discussion of the Timberlake expedition extremely confusing. Also somewhat concerned that most of the citations are from Timberlake's memoirs and not the biography of Sumter. Mragsdale (talk) 20:05, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sumter was nowhere near Kings Mountain in Oct of 1780

Slavery[edit]

Being that Thomas Sumter was a plantation owner, did he own slaves?? 2603:6080:5340:49C:352B:150A:62D3:4390 (talk) 22:21, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
