did they blame him in the play or in life? It should be put into more context
Thomas Putnam was a real person involved in the Salem witch trials as well as a character in The Crucible. This should be clarified.
Does anyone else think that he was a whiny emo? I read this book for english and that's the impression I got.

Confusion between historical person and fictional character
This article doesn't yet differentiate clearly between the historical Thomas Putnam, and the character based on him as told by Arthur Miller in his play The Crucible --Ogram (talk) 21:58, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
