Father[edit]

There is an inference that his father was also Thomas Parke. This comes from a monumental inscription [1] that Margaret Parke (died 1811), daughter of Thomas Parke of Yorkshire, married Christopher Wilson; plus this, which says that Margaret Parke who married Christopher Wilson was aunt to Baron Parke.

This does match with what is said here about a Christopher Wilson who was a Kendal merchant and nephew to Thomas Parke. He would be the Christopher Wilson (died 1845), son of the Christopher Wilson (died 1804) who married Margaret Parke. Charles Matthews (talk) 07:16, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

On the other hand it says [2] that Thomas Parke's father was John Parke of Low Row. Inconsistency somewhere. Charles Matthews (talk) 09:49, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

More in this, for the Parkes of Low Row. That John Parke would be the son of Thomas Parke (died 1764), who is more plausibly the father of the merchant, being born in 1698. But is said there to be the brother, which is presumably wrong. Charles Matthews (talk) 09:56, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
