Untitled[edit]

The article calls Lipton a Scottish self-made man, then later states he is of Irish descent. Although this is not an impossibility, it's sloppily written and could be confusing to many readers.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.23.37.174 (talk) 13:44, 22 August 2005‎

Portrait[edit]

As of the late 1990s (but at least not for the last few years), the package (the 16-teabag one, at least) featured a 3-tone posterized portrait of Lipton, in a nautical billed cap (with a medallion) and brandishing a teacup, perhaps a flattering rendition of the appearance he made as of the 1909 photo. (Particularly, the mustache is much narrower and more horizontal on the box.) It is accompanied by a small "Thomas JLipton" [sic] signature, in black.
Perhaps worth mention, if a little more detail can be found.

Where did 1848 come from? All other sources give 1850. Thisdaytrivia (talk) 05:45, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
