I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Expansion[edit]

This article is incomplete and consists mostly of a plot summary. More balanced coverage on the novel needs to be added to the article, with information on the author and the development of the novel added to the article (if any such information exists). More information on the novel's reception and legacy needs to be added to the article as well, with proper citations from reliable sources acompanying any new information added to the article. In the legacy section, there should be a sub-section briefly detailing each subsequent adaption, again accompanied with proper citations from reliable sources. Considering the amount of praise it's been given (some have placed it nalongside Frankenstein, Dracula, and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in terms of being a classic in Horror fiction), I'm surprised to see this article in the shape it's in (although not too surprised considering how those articles remain underdeveloped as well). Hopefully someone comes along and gives this article the attention it needs.--Paleface Jack 17:58, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
