Names names[edit]

Here we go with these difficult names again!

  • De'Borah or De'borah?
  • Adriana Louise Figueroa or just Adriana Louise? werldwayd (talk) 01:25, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest going to the iTunes page for The Voice to check what names their singles are officially released under. De'Borah, Devyn DeLoera and Adriana Louise. cheers

Songs[edit]

  • What did Brett Hite sing in day 2 of the blind auditions (11 September 2012)? werldwayd (talk) 04:50, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Links to other articles[edit]

Since Cassadee Pope already has a Wikipedia article (I don't immediately know if other contestants do), is there a reason to not link to that page from there? JeffHCross (talk) 00:56, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't it already linked on The Voice U.S. season 3 page? or do you mean to put a link of this page on Cassadee's page? Maine12329 (talk) 02:11, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
From the season 3 page to Cassadee's (for example) page. Seems like a few are linked (I don't know if any were when I posted that question), but I noticed that Cassadee's aren't. Wasn't sure if that was intentional or not. 69.243.19.221 (talk) 03:35, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Color Table for finalists[edit]

Can we discuss the colors to use? I think the current colors are very confusing. Can't we use gold/silver/bronze for the top three? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maine12329 (talkcontribs) 02:55, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why should we use different colors for every stage (Final 12, final 10 etc.) of the competition a contestant was eliminated? Take The X Factor, you have pink for every eliminated contestant, no matter when they were eliminated. --2.238.53.40 (talk) 22:36, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the current color table is a mess with tons of different colors. I find that it would be more presentable with different shades of green for the Top 12 in order of their elimination, or to have all of the Top 12 in same shade of green as "Through to Top 12" and refer to the Live show results table for their placing. But it keeps getting edited over. Maine12329 (talk) 06:29, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the tables that I made when proposing a new setup for season 4, I would love some feedback 66.87.94.57 (talk) 22:05, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorted columns for every table?[edit]

No tea, no shade, but having sortable columns in the Knockout Rounds table, where, well... where the data is essentially already sorted, because all the teams are clustered together because they all performed on the same episodes in precisely the order listed seems a bit superfluous. Absurdist1968 (talk) 01:13, 6 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Where is Nicholas David from?[edit]

In the auditions list, it says that Nicholas David is from LA. But his official webpage identifies him as from Minnesota and even the description for his latest song on the official "The Voice" YouTube describes him as from the "Twin Cities". Was he referred to as from LA when he auditioned or is this an error? 99.192.92.50 (talk) 04:50, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

iTunes Bonus[edit]

The rules state that songs have to be in the top 10 at close of voting. So I'm not sure about "What's Going On" or "Seven Nation Army." I've been checking a lot to see where Cassadee was, and I don't remember seeing these. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.107.90.250 (talk) 03:19, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You mean Too Close right? Seven Nation Army was the previous week. But yes it is those two, can see snippets of the iTunes charts from google.Maine12329 (talk) 12:20, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I can only remember seeing any Cassadee song, "Too Close," or some of the songs this week. I don't remember seeing "What's Going On" or "Seven Nation Army." Is there an iTunes archive we can check?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.107.90.250 (talkcontribs) 10:18, 6 December 2012‎ (UTC)[reply]
I found it; Top 6 here[1], Top 8 here[2], Top 10 here[3]. However, do note that The Voice uses the Top 200 chart that's updated every few hours and only viewable from iOS devices and not the daily chart that's viewable on the iTunes website, so there are some discrepancies. They are still accurate in determining who got higher sales. Maine12329 (talk) 06:45, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Don't they also announce during the results show, the artists that have received the bonus? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:21, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
They only did so in top 10. For the top 8 and top 6, they just announced the number of artists and singles that were awarded it and never specified...... Maine12329 (talk) 16:18, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I wasn't sure/didn't remember. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:46, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Quoting directly from the rules on the NBC webpage[4]: If any of an artists' eligible songs from the live performances (airing beginning November 12, 2012) are in the top 10 of the iTunes "Top 200 Singles Chart" at the close of the episode's applicable voting window, that artist will receive an "iTunes Bonus," which multiplies the artist's iTunes votes for each such eligible song by ten (10). The rule says nothing about being in the top 10 for any hourly chart or just being in the top 10 at some point. So it would seem that this page lists several songs as getting the bonus that did not actually earn it. 99.192.86.86 (talk) 16:49, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

To clarify, if I'm not wrong, there's only 2 iTunes charts: the Top 300 hourly one on the iOS and the Top 100 daily one viewable from iTunes.com. Getting into Top 10 in the hourly chart is a lot easier. Top 10 in daily -> Top 10 in hourly but not vice versa. Technically it is based on the hourly chart? Maine12329 (talk) 12:44, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The key phrase from the rules is this: at the close of the episode's applicable voting window. So this means that a song must be in the top 10 at 10am eastern time, which is when voting closes. Being in the top 10 at 9am (or 8am or 7am, etc), but falling out of the top ten by 10am is not good enough to get the bonus. 99.192.51.23 (talk) 14:06, 12 December 2012 (UTC) (=99.192.86.86)[reply]

Exactly, that being said, the only thing that matters is whether or not the artist's song is in the top 10 of the chart "at the close of the voting window" which is 10am EST. I made the change before the start of the result show because the three songs were all in the top 10 "at the close of the voting window" and the source for that would be http://www.apple.com/euro/itunes/charts/top10songs.html This is something that can be determined before the start of the result show. (And the result show has proved that I was right.) Cheers. --Miunouta (talk) 02:22, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you guys, I see your point. I read the rules when the change was made and that was the way I interpreted it. But during the top 10 something strange happened which confused me: Amanda Brown charted in the Top 10 at some point in time with "Stars" (was that at the close of voting?), but she was not awarded the iTunes bonus. They also said that Amanda charted with Stars during the Top 8 performances. I had an impression that she fell out of the chart and was not given it but I may be mistaken It's sad that they don't say exactly who gets the bonus. It seems a little like original research on wiki. Maine12329 (talk) 12:28, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It would appear that in the case you mention that the song was in the top 10 at some time before 10am, but then dropped out of the top ten by 10am, and so did not earn the bonus. I also agree with you that unless they announce on a broadcast which songs got the bonus or someone can cite a reliable source for what the top ten were at 10am (not 9am, not 11am, not for an unspecified time, but for exactly 10am eastern time) then claiming that songs got the bonus is original research and should be left off the tables. 99.192.51.23 (talk) 14:06, 12 December 2012 (UTC) (=99.192.86.86)[reply]

We have not reached end of voting yet, so please don't mark songs as having got the iTunes bonus already. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.107.90.250 (talk) 08:17, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

5th/6th placing[edit]

Amanda Brown is not 5th and Melanie Martinez is not 6th. This is just like the Beverly McClellan/Vicci Martinez placing dispute. Just because they called Melanie to go home first does not mean she had fewer votes unless they specified so on the show.Maine12329 (talk) 12:15, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

already top 10?[edit]

She just finished singing a couple of minutes ago, can she really already be in iTunes top 10???? Seems suspicious... --Tallard (talk) 04:43, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

whos behind the censorship of wikipedia when it comes to the timely posting of results?[edit]

Already millions on the east coast know who won and who lost yet it seems the page on wiki has purposely still not been updated when its already been hours since the results were revealed. I feel this is a form of censorship, if the producers of this show or any other like it are really that concerned that it could hurt ratings if the east coast reveals the results to other time zones, then they ought to actually air the show live just like any sporting event is aired live. Im going to watch the show regardless if i find the results online first, I just dont want to have to wait 3 hours longer than 150 million people that live in other time zones to find out the results! please post results as soon as they are known on the east coast! the show claims to be live but it obviously isnt aired live, but we should be entitled to get the results online live! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gawdsmak (talkcontribs) 03:28, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds odd. I was not at the page during the time and am not of US timezone so I was not aware. Wikipedia does not censor and when the results are announced live, wikipedia should be updated. If no results appear, it may be because of vandals at that time, so feel free to revert them if they have no reason to edit so. ⊾maine12329⊿ talk 16:24, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
