Naming of the album:

the album was probably not named after the book of Malcolm Gladwell, but after the source where Gladwell took it from as well: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tipping_point_%28sociology%29

About the naming, I would have to agree that it is most probably coming from the sociological concept ("one too many" black family induces white flight) more than from the book. The Roots are known for naming albums this way. i.e. The earlier album "phrenology" is also about a racist concept. François 202.94.133.196 (talk) 06:48, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

controversy?[edit]

i've never read or heard about it in public media but i nonetheless find that the tipping point is one of the more controversial studio recordings i have encountered. the final track, for example, is both obscene and its meaning is unclear. does anyone have any information regarding what fcc protocols are followed in national record releases and whether there is/was any kind of information available regarding this album?-sio. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sio6627 (talk • contribs) 21:17, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
