Would it be possible for someone to add to the 'story' section the game's ending(s)?

Rance Truman[edit]

What is of this 'Rance Truman,' whom is never spoken of during the game but at the beginning of each new level has something to say via letter format?

Engine Issues[edit]

I've added a section on engine problems. A lot of people who've bought the original game after TTB, or wanted to play the original after installing/playing TTB, found themselves dealing with graphical problems, and yet any information surrounding the solution I've mentioned, which is proven to work (I'm playing Suffering 1 right now actually) is rather difficult to find. Cleaning up[edit]

I'm doing a little cleaning up on this page; there's a few innaccuracies and mistakes. I also moved the three main "ghostly" characters (Killjoy, Hermes, and Horace) to the Other Characters section, seeing as while they ARE technically dead, so is Torque's family and that hasn't stopped THEM from haunting Torque throughout Carnate. In addition, they don't serve as actual enemies (bosses, maybe, but that doesn't quite count as Hargrave, for example, is certainly a boss character.) 216.68.209.189 03:26, 25 June 2006 (UTC)dethtoll[reply]


Setting[edit]

It was my understanding that the island/prison in the game was based on a real facility in maryland? Does anyone have any knowledge on that?

It doesn't seem likely, as the fictional prison is portrayed as being a corrupt hellhole of murder and death. I don't think the game's creators would want to invite libel possibillities when it is so easy to make an entirely fictional prison. Lots42 (talk) 17:40, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Only PS2, Xbox and PC?[edit]

I have this free promotional booklet released by Nintendo in 2003 with me, in it it says that the suffering is for the Gamecube. Did it come out for the Gamecube or was it dropped? I hope it came out for it...

Major clean up[edit]

Waiting to Die - Prelude Level[edit]

Is there a reason why there is no mention of the bonus prelude level that becomes available after clocking the game. I know that it may spoil the bonus if put on the page but i think its relevant so im putting it in there. Oh and the article sounds too much like a walkthrough in some places. United States Air Force?[edit]

Dr. Killjoy isn't a Psychologist, he's a Psychiatrist and Medical Practitioner.[edit]

Taken directly from the game's pamphlet on the mad doctor:

"One of Abbott's most persistent legends tells of Doctor Killjoy, the quite insane psychiatrist/surgeon who ran an asylum on Carnate. Doing research of my own, I found that he did indeed exist, though which stories are true and which are fabrication is anyone's guess. Since the cataclysm I have three times seen a surgeon formed of pure light, reminiscent of sixteen millimeter film projection come to life. Could this be the fine doctor?"
