Why is there a photo of an actress that wasn't in this episode? This picture should either be removed or replaced with a photograph of the new companion debuted in this episode (or at least some character that appears in the episode. As stated by the image caption, "The Rescue was a short serial to introduce the replacement of Carole Ann Ford's character, Susan." This is the first episode in which Susan doesn't appear as a regular, so I believe this fact is an important one to include in the article, and there's no reason that an image (that has a fair-use rationale) can't be used to do so. -- Rhain1999(talk to me) 14:49, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The important part of "The Rescue was a short serial to introduce the replacement of Carole Ann Ford's character, Susan." is that a new character was introduced in this article. A picture of the new character would be appropriate. I can see you want this picture on wikipedia, so I'm going to move it to "The Dalek Invasion of Earth" noting that this was her final regular appearance on the show. The article currently reads "Tom Sheridan was cast to play the voice of the rescue ship, the sand creature, and a robed figure; an agreement was made for him to be credited as 'Space Captain', which meant he could not portray the robed figure". It's unclear why the crediting means he couldn't play the robed character, especially as he did still have a dual role (and presumably this means one of the Didonians, who were uncredited anyway). @U-Mos: Good point; thanks for bringing this up. Here's the relevant paragraph from the source:
The other actor required for the serial was Tom Sheridan, and initially it was decided that the actor could play three roles: the voice of the rescue ship, the sand creature and one of the two robed figures at the end of the serial. There was an agreement made between [Christopher] Barry and Sheridan that the actor would only be billed as 'Space Captain' for his voice work; and as it transpired this would mean that he could not also play one of the Dido natives in the closing scenes.
Perhaps it means that, once it was decided that Sheridan would be credited, he could no longer play one of the Didonians, who (for some reason) were to remain uncredited? Or, because he was credited for his voice work, he could no longer appear on screen? I'm not sure. Hopefully you can make more sense of it than I. Thanks Rhain, the source doesn't clear things up much unfortunately but I've changed the sentence a bit to hopefully make clearer that any vagueness doesn't come from the article's writing.
