Yet , Another Cover Version.[edit]

There exists a cover version of this song from 1966 , but the details are sketchy. It appears on The Monkees episode "The Monkees at the Movies" , and is lip synced by Bobby Sherman ( as "Frankie Catalina" ). No credit is given in the episodes end titles. It's definitely not the Jan and Dean version , and I'm not familiar enough with Bobby Sherman's singing , to say it's him. ( Which is why I haven't added it to the main article. ). Well … pays to research BEFORE querying. According to Bobby Sherman's Wikipedia entry … a 2017 compilation album "Singles" , will feature a previously unreleased cover of "The New Girl In School" !
