All points have been addressed except for the very last; it's a valid measure in order to keep clusters of references from affecting the readability of the prose, per WP:CITEMERGE. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 19:38, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've used this particular format in a number of past GAs (ex: 1, 2, 3) without any comment, and at least one other has done it as well, so I would think that it's acceptable. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 20:27, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I've never seen this before and find it very confusing, like the notes are missing. But it's not part of the GA criteria, so I'll have to let it go. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 11:57, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
