Authorship[edit]

Is there debate as to which of the Pieter Brueghels painted this? Many online sources credit it to Brueghel the Younger, but Wikipedia seems pretty consistent with crediting Brueghel the Elder. I haven't looked this up in a book yet, but the internet seems to vacillate. Is it not known for sure?

The date of 1559 would indicate that it must be the elder. Stumps (talk) 03:18, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Theme in theatre?[edit]

I have (provisionally) removed the mention of the battle between Carnival and Lent being a common theme in theatre of the time. Does someone have a citation for this? Stumps (talk) 03:40, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
