The result of the proposal was No move Parsecboy (talk) 13:04, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think that "The Cynics" should redirect to Cynic, as it appears to be the primary meaning. Korg (talk) 01:16, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose move and redirect. The Cynics, capitalized thus as a two-word proper name, is nicely disambiguated as an article title from Cynic. Cynics already properly redirects to "Cynic". There are no bad incoming links to this article indicating any editor confusion. The hatnotes take care of any possible reader confusion. I don't see a problem. Station1 (talk) 02:49, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose as per Station1. It is unlikely that a user would type in the plural, looking for cynic.--Knulclunk (talk) 03:52, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I think the use of the word the is more unlikely than the plural issue. I could see someone accidently typing in Cynics looking for the cynic article but not The Cynics. --76.71.209.145 (talk) 04:10, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose I can't think of any reason why it should redirect to Cynic. As Station1 said, Cynics already redirects to it and there is a hatnote. TJ Spyke 06:58, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose No evidence or even argument that "Cynic" is the primary meaning of "The Cynics". And it's certainly not obvious. --Born2cycle (talk) 07:50, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
