Inexplicably black[edit]

The Recurring character section makes it sound as if Jim Briskin is "inexplicably black" in the two short stories, but I can't remember his pigmentation being mentioned in either of them. It's only in The Crack in Space / Cantata 140 that he's directly stated as being black, and far from being "a 'same character, different lives' kind of thing" he is in that novel explicitly stated to be a former TV newsclown with a flaming red wig, i.e. the exact same Jim-Jam Briskin as in the short stories. Crack/Cantata also has a counterpart of the stripper Thisbe Holt: Thisbe Olt, star attraction of the Golden Door Moments of Bliss pleasure satellite.
