There is a lot of work to do on this page. I am turning spare moments to it periodically, but it will need an esxpert historian's touch, too. I fell in love with these beautiful craft when privileged to sail a couple of times on My Lady Dainty while working as a sailing instructor at Raven's Ait. The page was simply missing, so I decided to create it. Photos are needed urgently. Fiddle Faddle 07:27, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing all those names again gave a very nostalgic feeling. As an apprentice, I used to work on them. I spent quite a lot of time on Caprice. My Lady Dainty was stowed under the clubhouse. It seems she is still awaiting a salvor. What happened to Dainty Too? She was the newest, having been built in 1922. She would be more than twice as old now. (RJP 08:31, 18 May 2006 (UTC))[reply]
I've just completed the basic work on the table, including Dainty Too. It is in an odd order, because that is the order on the page I researched, and I have no idea why. It would be excellent to have details of what you did, where you did it and to whcih boats, potentially in the table itself? I'm amazed and pleased that you foind the page so soon after I created it. That proves to me that I was not the only perosn missing them here.
I've pretty much come to the end of what I can do here as a simple researcher. We now need a content expert to take this forward. I will look at the table and look at adding sail numbers in a while, but that is, I think, the last real work I can do on this article

Mysteries and Histories to track down and clear up[edit]

The ~1939 Burgoine's Boatyard fire[edit]

It is said that many raters were stored in it, and that a bombing raid set fire to it and them. Is this event recorded anywhere? Which were destroyed if so? Were any salvaged?

Sequential Sail Numbers[edit]

The boats ages and sail numbers are out of sequence. Why?

Non Thames sailing[edit]

Have any raters been off Thames? How fast do they (could they) go in open water? Obviously they "feel" unlikley to be seaworthy, but a lake?

Thames Sailing[edit]

Is Bourne End the only other place on the Thames they congregate and race?

Rating for Wikiproject Thames[edit]

The article is a bit more than Start class, but is also incomplete, hence my assessment there. I rate it as mid importance because this boat historic and is unique to the Thames, thus has higher importance thnan first sight might suggest. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 21:46, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
