"Personal" sub-section of article[edit]

The "Personal (Life)" subsection of a tennis player's Wiki page goes beyond purely tennis facts/commentary relating to the player. For example, it might include topics such as family background, relationships, interviews, notable opinions of the player (related to tennis or otherwise), headlines and controversies.

When someone is a high-profile sports person, such as Tennys Sandgren, their opinions and comments become newsworthy and indeed therefore relevant as an addition to their Wikipedia page, in the "Personal" subsection. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 185.216.50.101 (talk) 00:33, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

WP:UNDUE is the relevant policy. In the end he's a tennis player, not a politician, and his opinions aren't all that important. This section is way too big now, and it occupies a prominent place right at the beginning of the article. Twitter controversy[edit]

I reverted the deletion of the twitter controversy. Also, the German wiki states that Sandgren deleted a homophobe tweet about his visit to a gay bar. Maybe worth mentioning?
