How is it that I get the impression that this article describes the Maymón family better than it describes the theater itself? Demf (talk) 01:12, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

POSSIBLE ANSWER: because there would not be a Teatro Yaguez without the Maymon family. Just like your User Profile lists all your achievements, the same is done here for the Maymon family.

National Historic Landmark[edit]

The theater IS NOT a National Historic Landmark, according to the National Park Service. "National Historic Landmark" is a very specific designation, and the theater has not been granted that designation. Agreed. While it certainly is a landmark (with a small ell) and is on the National Register of Historic Places it is not a National Historic Landmark. Only about 3% of the sites on the National Register of Historic Places have been designated as National Historic Landmarks. . . . . Jim . . . . POSSIBLE ANSWER: maybe because the Teatro Yaguez is a "Monumento Historico Nacional" in Puerto Rico, someone may have confused the North American "National Historic Landmark" with the puertorican "Monumento Historico Nacional" ?? There is so much misinformation going around that it is difficult to keep it all factual. For example: since 1980, the Teatro Yaguez has been classified as "Art Deco style", when some experts in architecture say it is "Neo Baroque style". Would be nice if someone came up with the correct answer.
