Using the Tasmanian Heritage Register[edit]

The Tasmanian Heritage Council lists only two methods for obtaining information about a Heritage Listing in Tasmania (since the Listing is just one line on the PDF page).

1. Ring Heritage Tasmania to confirm details

"If you have searched but are still not sure if your place is registered, or you can’t see it on the list but think it probably should be there, then ring the staff at Heritage Tasmania. They’re happy to help. Please find our contact details at the bottom of the page."

2. Request a Certificate for Affected Place

"For those who would like an official record of whether a place is or isn’t on the Heritage Register, the Tasmanian Heritage Council can issue a Certificate for Affected Place.

This option is commonly used by lawyers during legal processes such as conveyancing. There is a fee involved in obtaining a Certificate for Affected Place.

3. However the Heritage Council actually has PDF reports on most properties on the Heritage Register, and these can be requested from the Heritage Register staff and sent by email, free of charge.

No objections here. The point that they have the PDF reports and send them out free of charge does raise an interesting possibility down the line if we could get the state government to give them to us and license them under CC-BY. The Drover's Wife (talk) 09:58, 10 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The link in text above is broken however http://heritage.tas.gov.au/Documents/Tasmanian%20Heritage%20Register%20List.pdf is from April 2017 and has 330 items, and also heritage is not just the state govt in tas - everything to do with the tassie gets messy - as there are world heritage, national engineering heritage, and national trust prooperties JarrahTree 10:02, 10 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
