Until the 19th century?!?[edit]

I find the following hard to believe:

"...minted in Sicily, Malta and Southern Italy from about 913 to 1859."

That seems like an awfully late ending date. Is it a typo? Also, what ended the minting of them? Thanks! —Geekdiva (talk) 04:00, 24 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

So now it's obviously wrong - how could it be minted until 13th century if in Malta scudo (which tarì was subunit of) was minted for the first time in 14th century? They are even minted today, though now they are souvenir coins. Please clear this up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maltese_scudo --ItaBanita (talk) 19:05, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
