Tancred[edit]

The name Tancred is clearly not Anglo-Saxon, but Norman, itself Germanic Dankrad / Thankrad. An Anglo-Saxon corresponding name would have been Ðånkred > Thankred, Thinkred. Nortmannus (talk) 09:34, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Tancred certainly strikes me as Anglo-Norman, can you offer a source? Also, I'm pretty sure "Torthred" should be "Torhtred", per academic sources. I might have a look in a bit. Nortonius (talk) 13:40, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
