External control room?[edit]

This part makes no sense:

  • Design changes in internal layout, silhouette and hull form also differentiate the "T" Class boats from the earlier Salmon / Sargos class. The "T" class featured a double hulled construction and included an external control room as in German U-boats.

The earlier classes also were doubled hulled, so that's not a differentiator. And what in the world is an "external control room?" The Tambor control room is in the same place it was in the earlier classes, midships in the pressure hull. Kendall-K1 (talk) 05:03, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Changed "external control room" to "conning tower", also rewrote much of the article. RobDuch (talk) 05:23, 20 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Gar-Class?[edit]

This articles does not explain why the second 6 boats are 'often' called the Gar-Class. Where there any major differences? Nyth63 15:32, 18 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

These were ordered in a different fiscal year with anticipated differences, but the only actual difference that emerged was an increase in design collapse depth, although not test depth. Added this to "Ships in class" section. RobDuch (talk) 04:18, 28 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
