Pristina[edit]

Pristina may be is in Kosovo, but Kosovo remains a part of Serbia until the matter is resolved. For that reason, Pristina must be listed under Serbia in the destination list, because, per agreed-upon standards, we list countries. Jasepl (talk) 04:55, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's a fact that Pristina is in Kosovo. It may be also part of Serbia, but that's disputed. So we should keep to the facts and list Pristina under Kosovo. Pristina also says "Country: Kosovo". If that's a fact there, why not here? --Albspotter (talk) 10:47, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
yes, Pristina is in Kosovo - no one questioned that. However, Kosovo remains a disputed territoty (and not a country). As a result - since we are listing countries here and not regions/provinces/states etc - Pristina will stay listed under Serbia until the matter is resolved. Thanks, Jasepl (talk) 10:51, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo over the territory of Kosovo is recognized by 65 countries, a fact that can't be ignored. As I explained earlier, we've reached a consensus to place a note wherever Kosovo is mentioned, to avoid flame wars. Thank you. kedadial 16:54, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Again - no one questioned the sovereignty of Kosovo being recognised by 65 countries. Let that number be 8,000. That's not the point. As I mentioned elsewhere, this is not the place to discuss the politics of the Balkans. That's best discussed elsewhere (eg: The Kosovo talk page itself) and the outcome of that discussion should be applied equally across relevant Wikipedia articles. As things stand, the Kosovo article (which has been debated to death already I'm sure) still states that (and I quote): ":Kosovo... is a disputed territory in the Balkans." • By the way, all of the other editors who have been advocating the retention of Listing Pristina under Serbia have no connection or emotional bond, nor any personal stake in Pristina/Kosovo/Serbia/the Balkans. It might be worthwhile keeping in mind our unbiased nature and intent when you read the above. Thanks, Jasepl (talk) 17:45, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I told you about the consensus regarding Kosovo at Pristina talk page but I'm assuming that you didn't see it. That consensus has been reached just for the sake to save us time and not debate it over and over and over again. The consensus is simple: use the word Kosovo with a note aside which describes it's political status instead of starting flame wars: Kosovo; Serbia; Kosovo, Serbia; Kosovo, UNMIK; etc. As a matter of fact, this MOS is supported by Albanian, Serbian (who have connection or emotional bond) and other intl editors (who may not have any connection or emotional bond). The Kosovo-note template can be found on any Kosovo-related article.
I propose to use the word Kosovo with a note instead of pure Kosovo or Serbia, what do you think?
<offtopic>I gave you a WP:3RR warning and was on my way to report you but when I saw this, I didn't. I believe that we will resolve this dispute without any admin help.</offtopic>
