"Low Importance"??[edit]

Why is it that the main Etruscan Language article is considered of 'High Importance,' but the article on the second longest text in that language is considered low importance? (Relatively new here, so not clear how these things work.) In any case, I'm working on adding some more accurate content here, and maybe export some over to the the Etruscan Language article, which has no sample texts there at this point as far as I can see.Johundhar (talk) 14:42, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Preserving here one bit of my own text I deleted to see if I can track down more confirming sources: "*snuso- is the stem for "daughter in law" in Proto-Indo-European, and 'marth-' has been proposed as having the meaning "daughter in law" in Etruscan (and note that -t(h)- plus -s- becomes <z> in Etruscan orthography)" https://indo-european.info/dictionary-translator/word.inc.php/eng/daughter-in-law https://etruscans1.tripod.com/Language/EtruscanM.html(lines 9-10)Johundhar (talk) 18:23, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Note to self again, to see if anything more definitive is in the scholarly works on this wrt 'marza-c saca' in line 7: "Sancus and Mars At Iguvium Fisus, Sancius is associated with Mars in the ritual of the sacrifice at the Porta ('Gate') Tesenaca as one of the gods of the minor triad[h] and this fact proves his military connection in Umbria. This might be explained by the military nature of the concept of sanction which implies the use of repression. The term sanctus too has in Roman law military implications: the walls of the city are sancti" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sancus#EtymologyJohundhar (talk) 19:20, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

More self notes: Has anyone proposed a fill for the lacuna at the end of line 4? Must search sources. Since the apparent formula muluri zile picasri (("the order must be given (and) accepted"??) is preceded in its next instance with [god name] itna "so, further" perhaps here it is [Catha itna], given her association with Fufluns (possibly behind fulinusnes (5/6)?? Again, just posting this here so I or anyone else can look for scholarly back up or other published sources on this. Johundhar (talk) 07:56, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Under wiki for Catha: "...often seen with the Etruscan god Śuri with whom she shares a cult"!Johundhar (talk) 08:09, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
